Belief is a powerful word. Powerful because of what can be achieved when someone believes in something. The brain has the ability however to be fooled because even if you aren’t 100% sure that you believe in yourself, through the use of affirmations, you can trick your mind into thinking that it does truly believe it.
Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t. You’re right. –Henry Ford
It’s of course a lot more technical than just tricking your mind, however, by creating these patterns in your brain you’ll start to create the pathways that help to take you where you want to go.
Create Affirmations that Strengthen Positive Neural Pathways
Every time you learn something new your brain forms a neural pathway. The more you do it, and repeat the process, the better you become at it and you don’t need to even think about the process as much anymore. It becomes almost natural, like riding a bike.
Whatever you tell yourself, your mind will believe it, so if you think you can’t do something, the mind will agree. So start putting positive beliefs and thought patterns into your mind through the use of positive affirmations.
Here are some key tips to creating positive affirmations:
- Be specific – if you want to make $1,000 extra in sales this month, don’t just say “I am making more money in sales for July”, you should say something like “I am earning $1,000 in online sales for the month of July”. It’s also good to start with “I am” since it is speaking in the present and you are telling your mind that “you are” doing it now.
- Say it daily – look at yourself in the mirror and say your affirmations
- Read it daily – when you wake up in the morning read it, and before you go to bed read it again
